Weight lifting and such ....
One thing I love about weight lifting is even after your slacker days (or weeks) its so easy to snap back once you've built some muscle! Weight lifting is the most efective way to tone and shed fat. Also a great way to build muscle (my reason for weightlifting). My favorite days are leg days! (squats, sumo squats, single leg squats andlunges are just a few of my favorite). For my upper body (arms, back, abs) Ill most like use light weights and higher reps. (Example: tricep curls. 8-12lb weight with 3 set of 12-15). My personal experience using the light weights is they help keep my arms lean and toned ( along with the healthy eating habits) wereas if I'm using heavy weights my arms start to get bulky and thick. Now I dont mind a bulky and thick lower body at all (pass it over here!) So my reps are much heavier with lower rep count (Example: squats [using squat rack] 90-122lb weight with 3-4 sets of 8 slow reps).
My body goal? First off let me say my number one body goal is to always accept it and be confident with whatever it is I do have. Truly believe you cant start improving yourself until you have accepted all flaws. Now with that being said I do hope to grow my legs a little more and tone my arms and back out. That'll take patience and dedication. Im in love with the journey and constant improvments. Improving myself is one thing I have total control of. I take pride in being fit and healthy, bottom line it makes me feel dam good. It is something nobody can take from me. Stayed tune for my at home full body circuit!

Aloe Vera for summer skin.
Finding the perfect moisturizer for my skin is such a hassel. Something is always to greasy for me and I'm usually sweating it out within the next few hours. I randomly experimented with aloe a few months ago on my face and it was the perfect weightless moisturizer ive ever used! I also use the gel (straight from the leaf) on my curls and it is the perfect sealer. (After moisturizing hair, using something to "seal" in the moisture works wonders for natural curls) The Aloe gel leaves not one bit of risidue on my face and actually feels naturally like a second layer of skin. Also my summer sweaty nose hardly sweats as much with the aloe! I usually buy the large aloe leaf from the local spanish bodega or super market. Today I just used some from my aloe plant i have growing.
Ill usually break off a piece of the plant and use the gel that oozes out of the leaf as is. Just like that. All natural and no strange chemicals. Aloe is also used for sunburn, minor burns, smal cuts, scrapes, bug bites and treating digestive problems. Now, I've tasted aloe and it is not pleasant... at all. I would suggest boiling it with green tea or even in a smoothie to disguise the bitterness.

This is before the aloe, no make up and of course my face was just recently washed. Just broke off a small piece of aloe from my plant and the gel instantly started leaking from the cracked part. If you don't get enough from just that end than split the leaf open with a knife and rub generously all over face. Make sure there aren't any gelly particles your rubbing and leaving on your skin, they will most likely dry as clumps.
This is after the gel has dried. I love the natural glow and its even a wonderful protectant for the skin when applying make-up. Great way to nourish and moisturize your skin naturally! Aloe vera has many benifits and many uses, its a great topical antioxidant and may be used to prevent wrinkles. Ill make sure to post all of my uses for the wonder plant!

juice it real good!
This juice is more like a super packed bloody mary without the vodka! Try this juice in the morning for your source of vitamin C, B, antioxidants and iron! Beets and berrys are an excellent source of antioxidants (blood cleaning, toxin fighting bad asses). Beets are also packed with iron and lets not forget or super sweet carrots for there immunity boosting, vision improving super powers! Juice all of these bad boys ( add some ice if you like your drinks really cold) and drink up before your head out to start your busy day! This juice is sweet and not too bitter. Enjoy
coffee, peanut butter, vanillaa protein oatmeal. its a mouthfull!
Goodmorning! If you love coffee and peanut butter than this ones for you! Can you say coffee, peanutbutter, vanilla flavored protein oatmeal! Topped with fruit of course! Not only is oatmeal low in fat but it is also a "good" carbohydrate which will give your body lasting energy throughout the day. Coffee flavored anything has my attention (love me some coffee) and lets just say I don't go one day without a spoon full of peanut butter. I added a half a scoop of my vanilla flavored protein powder which was a great idea because lately I haven't been getting my daily dose of protein (calculation of grams based on my body weight) I mean a girl can only drink so many protein shakes a day right?
I made my oatmeal as I always do (follow one serving cooking directions on container) I use water (no milk), one scoop of peanutbutter, one teaspoon of ground coffee (or espresso if your a coffeehead like me), half of a scoop of vanilla protein and a dash of cinnamon. I also warmed up frozen blueberries and bannas in the microwave for one minute to top it all off. Very scrumtious down to the last spoon!

Hi my name is... Love
My name is Love and I am simply a 24 year old student. I have no degree in nutrition, just slightly obsessed with health and fitness. Everything I post is based off of my own research. Anything I post about hair is based off of my own experience. My reason for this blog is to track my progress. I am not perfect, I am not a vegan ( not on the weekends and maybe 80% during the week), I eat whatever I want when I go out (in moderation) and may have a drink occassionally. Its really all about balance isnt it? I'm content with mine. I will ultimately love to live the full yogi life eventually someday but as of right now I'm enjoying the journey there.
Eat ♡ Pray ♡ Love ♡
CHEERS !
Toast to jucing! I find myself very fatigue from time to time unfortunately because of my low iron levels. I'm not to big on the iron pills and I often forget to pick up a bottle during grocery shopping. I've always known beets and kale had high amounts of iron. Was never to fond of eating beets (at all) so I thought of jucing them instead. Having a very hectic schedule which practically drains every fiber of me (okay being a little dramatic) sometimes resulted in my attempt to absorb every possible nutrient and vitamin I humanly could on a daily basis, and juicing was the way to go! I usually eat tons of fruit and veggies daily anyway but jucing for extra absorbtion wouldnt hurt one bit. I have noticed a good change in my digestive system which results in less bloating. My skin seems to be more clear and a little bit more energy. I juice about 3 times a week minimum and replace a meal (usually lunch) and always after a night out with friends. Great way to clean toxins out of your body! Check out my delicious iron packed juice below!
I used half of the grapefruit, two kale stalks, one carrot, half of the beet, three stalks of celery and half of the lemon. Grapefruit is a great source of vitamin C and aids in digetsion and weight loss. I use the celery merely to create more jucie (celery is 95% water anyway). Carrots are great source of both vitamin B1 and B2 which is excellent for healthy brain and vision function. Used the kale and beets for the iron packed benifits they have. The juice its self taste bitter (which I like), bit of sweet and very smooth. for a sweeter drink I would add more carrots or less grapefruit. And lets just say this juice isnt the little ones favorite.
Cheers! Enjoy!
*taps mic* is this thing on?
I'd like to think I am the epitome of simplicity, sometimes. At times it can be the only thing I am unknowingly consistant with. Surprisingly I am content with that. I try to keep my food as simple and clean as possible and hair simply clean and manageable. Have been debating with myself lately on weather I'm a free spirit or not. unhibited? Just a little. Ill keep everything simple and free here. Namasate.
